My New Nest

This is a view taken from the hall leading to the bedrooms, you can see my little art center.

Here are some before and after pictures to show you what we have accomplished in the last four days. I could not have done this without a lot of help from Shirley and other friends and family..... It is a rather amazing transformation

This is what the living room looked like before we started....

A view looking into the living room from the front hall...

Here is a photo of my bedroom...

This is the first opportunity I have had to chat with you all on line. It has been an amazing week filled with lots of action and lots to do. Everything went very smoothly with practically no glitches along the way. I am convinced this is due to all the love and prayer support that I have had for my move.

Shirley has been my "angel". She drove me down, and worked like a beaver every day to help me create a home in just 4 days. I am including some before and after pictures to show you what we accomplished. We had some extra help and encouragement and visitors. My sister, Nancy and her husband Dave were here unpacking, toting things from Porter's home to my home, and helping me hang paintings. Nancy came down on the day the truck arrived with a wonderful picnic lunch. Grace Emori dropped in with her friend who lives in Berkeley. They brought wonderful fresh produce and a lovely bouquet of fresh flowers as a housewarming welcome. Today, Beth Michaelson came with another wonderful lunch and was able to stay for a short visit. We had a lot of catching up to do... Beth is a Hillside member. Shirley and I attended church at Hillside on Sunday, it was so nice to see a lot of familiar faces.

I am really tired and have found muscles that I did not know I had. But it feels so good to be settled and was worth the effort and hard work. Tomorrow I put Shirley on the ferry to go the San Francisco. She is meeting with her "money men". Then she is off visiting other Marin friends. She gave me 5 days of super and amazing effort and good will. I will forever be grateful for all of her help.

This is going to be a wonderful home. I woke up this morning to the birds. My deck is right by the top of a large tree and I am able to bird watch from my bed. How great is that! I got my bird books out so I can start identifying who I am seeing every day. The neighbors upstairs have bird feeders and I get to watch all the action. The views are amazing. I can just sit and watch and never get tired of the scene... the skies are constantly changing and there are ducks swimming up and down Corte Madera creek.

Well, it is 11 pm and I need to get some shut eye. As you can tell, I am a happy camper. There are some wonderful new photo's of Porter and her daugher Elsa on the Merriman blog, as well as Kate's recent news from Austin, be sure to check out the posts. Merrifamilia@blogspot.com
