My nephew, Joe Mc Cormick and I took Dave and Nancy out to lunch Sunday to celebrate Dave's birthday. It was a great restaurant. My plate was very fancy ... I had a "Tower of Vegetables" and it really was a tower created by sauteed veggies stacked one upon another. It made for a very colorful and fun meal and healthy, too.
I had taken a walk before lunch as I had arrived early at the restaurant. I climbed up a very steep hill and was rewarded to find a lovely manzanita wreath just sitting in the grass. I decided to take it home with me so I hiked on down the hill, wreath in hand.
When I got home, I hung the wreath outside my bathroom window on my deck. If you look carefully at the photo above, you can see some "stuff" in the vent pipe above the window.
A Oak Titmouse Nest
This darling little grey bird with a tufted top knot has built a nest right above my bathroom window. She is quite vocal and has a buddy or two helping her create this home for her eggs. In the morning sometimes when I am on the "throne" I look out I see her as she is sitting there on the top of the open window. I get to watch the whole process. Apparently, this place has been used for a nest for over 20 years. The previous tenant loved birds and loved this little Titmouse and her families. I think I will, too!
