Martin Luther King Day

What a special time for Martin Luther King's 80th Birthday!

I think he is smiling down from heaven as he sees our nation gather to celebrate his day and anticipate the inaguaration of Barack Obama. The weather continues to be in the mid 70's every day with plenty of sunshine and not even a breeze.

I picked up this little daffodil at Trader Joe's to remind me that spring is on its way.
It is also as a tangible way to acknowledge the start of a new life, a new hope and the new beginnings of our 44th president.

This morning I took a hike along the bay beyond the Larkspur Ferry Terminal.
A dad and his two little boys were having so much fun throwing sticks and balls for their two Labs, one black and one yellow. I even was told their names, Duke and Tractor.
I sat on the bench, enjoyed the sun and sketched this scene of the water with Mt. Tam in the distance.
