Our Field Trip to an Art Show

Our Watercolor Journaling Group had a "field trip" today to see an artist friend's show in Sebastopol. I had taken a journaling workshop from her and really like her work. The show was fabulous, a collection of her journals done over the past years. She uses multi media in such fascinating ways.

This is the page I did in my journal about our very FUN day.

We were able to touch and experience her journals up close and personal, what a treat!

Later, we drove to Grafton for lunch. Susan joined us. She is the women in the green striped sweater. Susan was so gracious to share some of her ideas, tips and techniques. We all got inspired.

On our way home, we visited a neighborhood in Sebastopol that has wonderful whimsical sculptures up and down the streets. A local artist filled his home and yard with his work and then willing neighbors let him put his work in their yards, too! The result is 3 blocks filled with wonderful metal art. I took scads of photos but I am only putting in two. The above is his house, check out his car.

This is one of my favorites, isn't it fun?

I really enjoy your blog. I live in Sacramento, but grew up in Mill Valley. Your discussions and art are a joy.
