Signs of Spring

A neighbor planted some daffodil bulbs along the driveway that leads to our apartment building's garage. They are now in full bloom. Each time I drive by, my spirits are lifted. Today, I stopped to take a photo of these wonderful yellow flowers.

Taking the photos inspired me to do a watercolor page of some daffodils. I did not want to pick any of these beauties outside of my building so I bought a bunch at our local store.

An artist friend from Oregon gifted me with this earthen pitcher. I had admired it once and she gave it to me right on the spot. Now that is a gesture from a generous heart! This small pitcher is a favorite of mine and I enjoy using it as a vase.

I painted this on a page from new journal with "real" watercolor paper and got much better results than using my Handbook journal. I will be glad when my old one is all filled and I can move on to a better surface on which to paint.
