Smith Ranch Paint Out

One of our painting group members invited us all out to a beautiful residential area in San Rafael. It is a residential development for Seniors. The grounds are large with lots of wonderful landscaping and interesting things to paint.

I really enjoyed chatting with some of the residents as they passed by my painting spot... they were very interested in what I was doing and I encouraged them to give it a try pointing out that I did not pick up a brush until I was in my 60's .... hopefully, some of them may consider trying out a journal.

After we did our pages, we enjoyed our picnic lunch sitting by the pool. This is such a special spot that I asked our hostess if we could have a repeat visit... she graciously answered YES!.

Great sketch. And great idea about recruiting some new artists.

Just visited your blog via Catherine Carey (with whom I learned "watercolor journaling"). You do wonderful and interesting journal paintings. I shall visit again!
