On Thursday, I took a walk in an old part of town. The streets are lined with lots of trees that are dropping colorful leaves. I gathered up a bunch of different kinds and brought them home to enjoy.
Of course, the leaves started drying out and losing their vibrant colors right away,
so today I spent some time doing a page.
I am taking an online class from Laure Ferlita. I tried her idea of squirting a fine spray on each leaf before applying the color... I had mixed results. The color ran beyond the perimeter of the leaves. It was hard for me to leave it alone and let it be "imperfect". My goal was to complete a page in 45".
I made it!
I LOVE the variety of colors on Autumn Leaves!

These are just lovely! Autumn is my favorite time of the year--except that it is so short here in Michigan. We have had a string of just gorgeous, colorful days and most afternoons we would take trips to different areas and he would photograph and I would sketch/watercolor the foliage. Always love your style.
