My last online lesson from Laure

#1

This last lesson from an online class taught us how to do rust with our watercolors.... it was a new way and I had fun following her ideas. Of course, with my lack of garden tools these days, this is no longer a problem for me. My single tool is a small trowel that is rust proof. One does not need much with a deck and a few plants.

#2

Here is version #2 after some feedback from my art teacher. I rounded the container by making the edges darker ... this gives depth to the pot that was not there enough in version #1.  Small changes like this are what helps a painting to look better.... e

Yes! You got the rust on there just fine! And the pot does look more round :-) These little hints are so helpful. My WC teacher told me to "paint the ribbon darker in the thin spots to make it look real." (You commented on my ribbon over the Players Barn) Always enjoy your sketches/watercolors.

I like the changes, Elizabeth! The pot has a lot more roundness to it!

Thanks for joining me in class. It was a pleasure to work with you.
