Our WJG meets at my home.

Our Watercolor Journal Group had planned to paint inside because we had no idea that the weather was going to be so nice. Some of us painted out on my sunny deck and some did their pages inside.  We enjoyed home made pumpkin cookies and tea as we did our pages.

I chose to do a sunflower that was getting a little "tired". I love the back of sunflowers just as much as the fronts. I sat in the sun and got really warm doing this page and I had to stay alert to prevent hard edges on my page with the sun hitting the paper.

Miriam came with lots of pages done. She has been busy with her art. The  one above the text was done this morning. Miriam has such a lovely, light touch on her pages. Her personality comes out in her work.

Jeanne's page is below.

Jeanne was enjoying the music that I had playing and she put in the background with strokes keeping time to the beat of the songs. I love the way she did the vase with the stems in the water.  She was our cookie provider.

Jillian chose to do some of the leaves that I had gathered on my morning walk. She got some rich lush colors into the leaves.... this is done on smooth drawing paper. She did not use a lot of water and it worked out well on her page.

LOVE that sunflower, Elizabeth! I too love the back of the flower—nicely done!
