Spring is here at The Redwoods and a Birthday Dinner

Everywhere I walk on The Redwoods Campus, there are plants and trees bursting in bloom.
We have so many beautiful trees, here is a Dogwood.

I think this might be a cherry, heavy with blooms.

I went into our Organic Garden to take a few photos of what is happening there.
 These poppies are huge!

A close up of a Bradbury Apple blossom ... we have an orchard in our Garden
.

 Tulips in their full blooms.

APRIL BIRTHDAY DINNER CELEBRATION

Each month The Redwoods hosts a birthday dinner for the residents.
If you are a birthday person, you are a guest at the event.
The Redwoods volunteers prepare a beautiful table and serve the guests.
I invited my daughter, Kate, to join me in the festivities.

Here is my place card and the menu for the evening.
We were served a delicious gourmet meal. by volunteers.
They hovered over us to made us feel special.
"Would you like some more wine or champagne?"
There was also entertainment provided pro bono by even more volunteers.

Each birthday guest received a beautiful rose. Here is mine.
I might have to paint this one!

What beautiful flowers! You have your watercolor cut out for you with these pictures. The rose is gorgeous! You can do it :-)

Elizabeth,

I enjoyed reading your supportive comment about the Friday afternoon social gathering at The Redwoods before the 4:00 o'clock 'Seniors For Peace' demonstration at nearby street corner. However, I would far prefer to enjoy a class of wine AFTER the demo rather than before. Any suggestions!!!
