Monday morning, I had a cataract surgery on my right eye.
I came home with a patch and a new lens in my eye.
I was allowed to take a shower that evening.
As I was drying off in my bathroom area,
my eyes fell upon a familiar tee shirt cardigan.
I have always experienced it as a somewhat
muted warm dusty rose.
Now what I see is a cool rather rosy lilac with
absolutely no warm tones.
I kept closing one eye and then the other
going back and forth between my "old" eye
and my "new" eye. The difference was very
dramatic for me. I realize that, slowly over the
years, my vision has been veiled with a muted
parchment like filter. Every thing I see is
somehow muted with a yellowish, parchment tone.
I can hardly wait to have my other eye done
in three weeks. As an artist, this new way of seeing
the world is so exciting. I am eager to get
back into my paint box and experience
mixing and playing with color is a
whole new way.
I am grateful to have this time between the
surgeries to really experience the old and the
new.... the world is looking so much brighter
these days!

WOW, Elizabeth, what a difference!
Good for you Elizabeth! What fun you'll have painting with your new vision.
