I had fun making some personalized stationery
for a good friend who celebrated
her birthday this week.
I printed out some invitation sized
note cards for her.
I love hydrangeas and this gorgeous
bloom came home with me from
my retreat in Santa Cruz.
Next door to our beach house,
was a large bush laden with blooms.
Just as we were packing up
our cars to go home, we discovered
that the gardeners were planning on cutting
back the hydrangea bushes.
I just brought one bloom home with me to paint.
This one was my favorite.
I love the delicate colors of pale blue, pale pink
and soft violet.
Now my friend will have some note cards
and I had the pleasure of creating
the image for them.

Thank you so much for your inspiring posts and beautiful watercolor sketches. I have been following your blog for 2 or 3 years now. Whenever I need inspiration I come here. Your GIM Retreat reminded me of a time I spent at Asliomar a few years ago learning watercolor journaling. Many thanks!
Thanks for this kind comment, Laura. It encourages me to keep on blogging and doing my journal pages. I was going to answer you by email but there is no contact info.
Oma, I have followed you since I found your blog from Susan Cornelis's blog. I am also a student. I just realized that you live in the Redwoods. My very good friend Marinette Wahlgren also lives there. You too should meet. She has a great positive outlook on life, just as you do!
I love your journaling. Your sketches are wonderful, and the cards you did for your friend, really stunning!
