Our Watercolor Journal Group did not
Paint Out today. It was too cold
and rainy. We gathered at Miriam's home
for tea, conversation and, oh yes,
a little painting, too!
I love camellias.
They remind me of my beloved Aunt Mary Lemcke
She lived in the Chico area and had many
camellia bushes on her ranch. She was such
a vital and active person in the valley.
There is a Mary Lemcke Camellia Garden
at Chico State University.
She was OMA to her grandchildren
and I asked to be an OMA, too.
I wanted to be just like her when I grew up!
Japanese Plums make wonderful clear as crystal
jelly that tastes delicious, too.
I have not made it for years,
the color is just like these blossoms.
I pick one bloom at a time from our
organic garden. Just having one flower
in my apartment brings the outside - in.
