Wonderful October Weather and our Growing Journal Group

We have been blessed with wonderful warm days and cool nights
this week. I love Fall, the color of the light and the crispness of
the morning air.

My new iphone5s arrived this week and after a couple of days
of tweeking and eventually getting some help at my local
Apple Store, I am having fun with it.  I very happy with
the better camera that comes with my new camera.

The early ams are a little cold, so I am doing my walks after
breakfast these days. I took my new iphone on yesterday's
walk. and took these two shots. The reflections in the water
were so beautiful.

This is on my way back to The Redwoods from the bike path that is along the creek. You can see the buildings nestled under Mt. Tam.

And this shot is from the front of our buildings.
The old tree has fallen into the creek.
It provides some great hiding places for
birds and fish, depending on the tides.

Our Watercolor Journal Group had their paint out on Tuesday.
We gathered at the Marin Civic Center.
The buildings were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
The colors have faded so much. The buildings were originally
bright salmon pink with a bright sky blue roof.

This is the auditorium that is near the Civic Center.

I painted it brighter than it is and had fun simplifying
and adding some Drakes that were swimming by.
Four of us came on Tuesday.
We welcomed a new member, Joan.
We are now 10 or 11 on our roster. Several women
have joined us this year. The more, the merrier.

I am sharing the leadership tasks now.
Each member takes one month and decides where we will meet.
The location needs to be easily accessible,
with a bathroom available and some shade, too.
We have been doing this for over 5 years now,
so it is good to have new blood with new ideas
of places to go to paint some pages in our journals.

Some of us go for lunch after, which is always fun.
The women in our group are such an interesting
bunch, it is great to get to know them over a meal
or a cup of coffee.

This is a wonderful journal entry. Perhaps I'll try an official journal page at our next gathering.
