I had a jam packed two days of all sorts of art. On Friday, my friend, Sue and I hopped on the SF Ferry and went to the Museum of Modern Art to see two great exhibits.
One is of Richard Avedon's Photography and the other is of the work of Georgia O'Keeffe and Ansel Adams. We walked to the museum, enjoyed a delicious lunch wandered through the exhibits and then walked back to the Ferry. By the time I got home, my body knew that I had been on my feet for most of the day but it was a very good tired.
Then the very next day, another friend, Cheryl and I drove up to Napa to the
diRosa Preserve to see their huge collection of two and three dimensional art. It was a two and half hour tour that just about did me in physically while it filled my soul with wonderful art and nature. Please follow the link to see the beautiful setting of this very unique collection.
Cheryl's friend, Kris, was our tour guide which made our experience very special. I had wanted to be able to sit and capture some of the art on my journal pages but they have rules about cameras and sketch books so I just had to lock the images in my mind. After the tour Cheryl and I took Kris out for lunch at Sonoma's Shellville Inn, a local favorite restaurant. We sat outside on a perfect warm afternoon. I feel so privileged to live in an area where one can be exposed to such great art from well known artists and up and coming artists, too.
Needless to say, I came home pretty tired and so appreciative of the opportunity to have these two outings. Today is a quiet day, church this morning and then just hanging out and working on a page or two in my journal to remember my outings.
I'm giving my tootsies a rest before the week starts again tomorrow!
