Back to Watercolor Journaling

During the months of June and July, I took a Watercolor Sketch Travel art course at College of Marin. One of the students loaned me a DVD put out by two women that teach watercolor journaling in the Santa Cruz mountains just south of here. I got all excited about their ideas. They have a web site www.watercolorjournaling.com.

I am back into my journal once again and it feels great. Here are 3 most recent pages.

A page done in Petaluma after visiting two old friends, Marilyn Kristovich and Peggy Wells.

A local shopping center hosts a Farmers' Market on Wednesday afternoons. I sat and enjoyed an iced coffee and captured the flavor of the market and the center's wonderful flower pots.

Emily and Elsa went to Ethiopian Family Heritage Camp down at Mission Springs near Santa Cruz. I stayed with India, her dog ... Em has a wonderful sculture in her back yard. I asked her if it was a Crane and she was not sure. It does not matter, it is wonderful even if we are not sure what kind of bird it is. They arrived home Sunday afternoon having had a great time with 50 other families in the Bay Area that have adopted children from Ethiopia.

These are great. I especially like the graphic quality of the crane page and how you played with the lettering. It looks like a fancy graphic design!
