Tuesday's Paint Out and Brrrrrrr

Our local paper tells me this has been the coolest July on record for Marin... there is something about a high in the Midwest that is bringing in the Marine layer each day. Here is the quote, "There has been a high pressure system sitting over the Midwest and those things are hard to move, it is like the 800 pound gorilla." Now I am not sure how this works but I do know that cool ocean and marine bay layers have been reigning supreme. The paper said our July average has been 52.6 degrees.

Now I know why our paint outs have been parka weather days... thankfully, the sun did emerge this morning but I still chose to keep on my fleece to stay warm.

I don't want to complain toooooo much as I hate the heat and will gladly add a layer any day.
We do not have A/C so when it is hot, we feel it inside and out.

We met at Dominican University, a private university in San Rafael. It is a beautiful campus filled with large trees and historic buildings. There was lots of activity with summer school and day camps going on .... I wandered off to a quiet spot and did these pages.

We enjoyed our picnic lunches and shared our pages and recent art work.

I came home to clear out some space in my storage locker. My daughter, Kate, is moving back to Marin and I plan to store some boxes of books that she will be shipping to me. She has to fit her life into a small trailer that she will tow from Austin ..... this really helps you to decide what is really important to you! I am very excited about having Kate closer.... she will be just over the hill in Bolinas which is a small town on the Marin coast.
