I have been going through my stuff at home and downsizing. In the month of January I was able to go through photo albums and pared down 20 years of photos into one 2 1/2" ring binder... whew... it feels great to have my very favorite photos all in one place rather than on a shelf full of bulky photo albums.
Today, I went through all my sewing "stuff" and saved just what I would need to mend some clothes or do some repair on something. I have not done a sewing project for years.
Kate does do wonderful creations that she makes out of found objects or recycled fabrics. So, I am passing on my Mother's sewing box which is filled with wonderful old treasures. As a child, I can remember going through my mother's button bag and playing with the hundreds of buttons of all shapes and colors. Later, my daughters did the very same thing. They would sit on the floor, dump out the contents of the bag and play with the buttons.
It feels good to pass on things that are special to the next generation and to simplify my life and home.

You are giving me such ideas for another watercolor subject! I also have my Grandmother's sewing basket and the "egg" to put inside the socks for darning. It's such a treasure for me! Thanks for sharing these....
