The rain has not slowed down the trees
from blooming. This is one of our
many ornamental fruit trees on
The Redwoods' campus.
On Monday's, I get to read and help out
in Elsa's class at Marin Horizon School.
It is so nice to be a small part of
my granddaughter's life.
Every one at Marin Horizon calls me Oma,
which I love. It is so sweet and personal.
Elsa is the eager child standing up.
I did this simple painting for a new friend.
She is a Dominican University graduate student
in Occupational Therapy. We co facilitate
a small group once a week in my apartment.
The Redwoods' program is called
Circles of Connection.
Each week I put out fresh flowers for us.
The past few times, it has been daffodils.
Liz's birthday is later on this week.
I hope this painting of daffodils reminds her
of our times together doing this program.
I really enjoy working along with another
woman from another generation. Liz is
doing a wonderful job as a facilitator.
This Lace Cap Hydrangea was a practice
try at negative painting. I did not use
watercolor paper. It is beautiful hand made
paper but it buckled and curled with I tried
to do a background wash. I had to press
it down with a towel and my lap top to
keep it from curling.
I do like the result but I won't be using
this paper for watercolor again.
Finally, this is a page from today's
Watercolor Journal Group gathering.
Miriam put out this lovely small
sculpture for me to try to render.
Once again, the paper is not really good
with watercolor but I was pretty
satisfied with what I was able to
do in a Moleskin journal.

I am so "behind" on keeping up with your paintings, etc. Great one of your daffodils! very colorful.
You give "life" to your sketches/paintings. Love them.
The pictures all came out pretty. It's so good you can be part of such a variety of groups! Being in a senior community isn't keeping you from mixing the age groups!
