I had a wonderful birthday today, celebrating 76 years.
To be able to feel good and have great health
is a blessing, indeed.
And I don't take it for granted!
My day began with family members singing
me "Happy Birthday" on the phone, a
family tradition that has been passed
down through 3 generations now.
Elsa did a great job singing and even added
a ditty of her own at the end.
I continued to celebrate by going into
Elsa's classroom to receive this beautiful
card and lots of hugs
The teachers and students of Primary 2
joined in wishing me a Happy Birthday.
Then my good friend, Pamela treated me to a
picnic salad lunch created at the new
Good Earth market in Fairfax.
There were so many goodies in the
salad bar. We loaded up our boxes.
Then off to Lake Lagunitas where we
enjoyed our picnic and then took a
hike around the lake.
The day was glorious,
I loved reading this sign.
Wild flowers abounded and these sweet
small blossoms caught our eye.
There were banks of wild iris, both white
and pale lavender. Hundreds and
hundreds of them lined the trail.
Pamela showed me this lovely resting place.
All this beauty, just a short drive away in Marin.
I came home to even more cards in my mailbox.
People still send snail mail!
The final surprise were these beautiful
tulips that were delivered to
The Redwoods this afternoon.
They are a gift from a good friend.
Tulips were my daughter, Margaret's
favorite flower. So these are very
special to me.
All this love... I am so very blessed
to have such loving friends and family!
