Our Director of Dining Services is moving
to Atlanta with his family.
Ed and I have had a interesting relationship as I have
been campaigning for more vegan choices on our
Redwoods' menus. He has been patient and has
listened to my requests and made some small changes.
Today, he prepared a lunch for our
Hospitality Committee of 12 persons.
He was so eager to tell me that the menu was
vegan with the exception of the crab cakes.
He made an excellent pasta with veggies and then
presented this vegan chocolate cake for dessert.
I don't usually eat sweets but I enjoyed a piece
in honor of Ed and our friendship.
The cookies were not a vegan choice but the cake was.
It was delicious, moist and not too sweet.
Later on in the day, I went to the garden to be
part of our Art in the Garden group. I did a quick
pen and ink sketch and then went home and put in
a little color. As usual, I made a mistake with the
date. Tomorrow is the 20th, not today.
