An ornamental cherry tree and a close up of a branch below.
Late afternoons are wonderful here at The Redwoods. The sun comes streaming through my sliding glass doors as it drops low in the sky. Sometime around 4:30 or 5:00, I take a stroll around our 10 acre campus. Our Organic Garden has sun longer than any other place on campus. It is a great place just to "be" and take in all the beauty of our bulbs and new produce growing in our raised beds. We have chairs along the creek. I enjoy sitting quietly and seeing who or what comes down the creek depending on the tide. We have egrets, blue herons, lots of Canadian Geese and ducks.
Here are waves of jonquils planted along our fence.
Every Thursday, some of our residents harvest the veggies and bring baskets full of greens such as lettuce, kale, spinach, bok choy, collard greens for us to take home and enjoy in our meals.
I just bought a VitaMix blender and now I can fill the container full of fresh greens, add a fruit or two and some juice or water and create a healthy and delicious smoothie meal.
We have poppies along our creek right now.
This lovely display of tulips is in front of a home
on Sycamore Street about a mile from The Redwoods.
The brick planter is about 20 feet long.
It was such a lovely surprise to come upon
this wonderful collection of colorful tulips.
I had not walked this way for several weeks
and was so happy to come upon
this tulip extravaganza!
I have not been painting much this month.
I have plenty of subject matter
for me to use once the muse stirs.
