Three Watercolor Journal Painters showed up this week
to paint in an older part of San Rafael.
It has a lovely park surrounded by old Victorian homes.
We all decided to do a home.
Two of us did this sweet yellow home.
Pat was braver than I was and did the entire image.
I like to complete my page on site so I
did not attempt to capture the entire house.
Pat Dicker's page, the colorful trees add a lot, so much
color added to a somewhat pale home.
My page.... I like to include the 5 elements I teach my
groups... Image, Title, Text, Border and Date. This
keeps my book fairly consistent and I know where I
have been and when I was there.
Loretta Armstrong captured this wonderful
gingerbread eave decore on the white house.
I love how she added the back ground to pop
out the white and her shadows are great, too.
Before we went home, we took a photo of
what we did on site. You can see how dramatic
a change the other two women made on their pages
at home.
Pat is the newest member of the group.
She is an enthusiastic and fun addition to
our Tuesday painters.

Thank you so much. I plan on spending more plein air time in Gerstle Park...a lovely, lovely place. I love the Tuesday painters and am very pleased to be participant in the group.
