Ou Watercolor Journal Group had a great morning in Mill Valley.
We met at Strawberry Shopping Center and were treated
to a beautiful warm sunny morning,
We spread out after getting ourselves a coffee or latte.
We paint for 1 1/2 hours and then gather for what we
call "Show and Tell". I guess my elementary school teacher
days influence the choice of naming our critique time.
Here we are showing our pages and explaining our process.
This is not a great photo with the shade and sun but
you get the idea of our morning. This is also a time that
we share any art news. Some of us are taking an online class
right now and had pages to show from the class.
Two of us are going to Asilomar next week to paint and
learn from two online teachers. It will be great to see and
learn from them in person.
Here is our group.
There are 10 of us which is about
the maximum number that works for going places.
6 of us showed up today.
Joan, Elizabeth, Jillian, Pat, Arlene, Loretta and Jeanne.
This has nothing to do with our art outing except
I loved the pattern of this manhole cover.
Do I feel a zentangle coming on?
Here is my page that I finished at home.
As you can see, perspective is not my strong suit.
It looks like my buildings are off keel...
or shall we say "whimsical".
Oh well, that is my style.
It's OK with me, it has a playful feeling.
I do feel like a 5 year old at my painting easel
when I do a page and it shows :[).
This page was done before I left using my
on line class style emphasizing lettering and frames.
We put our books on the table and I got this
photo of our morning's work.
Each woman has her
own distinct style which
makes it so much fun to see.
