A Visit to Jacksonville

I had a wonderful week visiting old friends in Jacksonville, Oregon. I moved back to Marin in 2008 and had not been back for over a year. It was so great to be able to reconnect with dear friends.

Here are a few highlights of my trip.

Mae, Shirley and Elizabeth

This photo is of the three of us strong, adventurous women who bought a house together on the Applegate River in 2000. We left our lives in California to strike out and experience the country life 19 miles from the nearest town. We called our place, Trilogy for the three of us sharing our home. We remain close and good friends.

Painting the Barn

I met an artist friend and we painted a local antique store. I have my handy board that keeps everything from slipping. And here is the result below.

"Furniture Shop" - a Jacksonville treasure... very old and falling down.

Painting Shirley's Home Page

Then I did a page of the home of my hostess, Shirley. She is one of the Trilogy women that is living in Jacksonville. We are dear friends and she put up with me for a week.

235 Jackson Creek Drive

Here is her home... this photo did not get the colors too well.... but my goal is not perfection but being able to remember my trip.

I really enjoy visiting your blog. I like the peacefulness you capture in your paintings. I also liked the idea of your board. I recently started plein Air painting with my daughter and I'm not always sure what to bring and usually bring too much. Your board idea is great.
