"Pushing Pills" for Guatemala
Our church (Westminster Presbyterian Church) in Tiburon and a local synagogue have teamed up for several years to sent a group of volunteers on a medical mission to Guatemala. About 70 people fly down each year - we send 30 on "village" team and 40 on "surgery" team.
Many of the volunteers and a few of us that are supporters of the mission gathered after church to "push pills". We placed prescription medicines into small plastic bags of 30 each to take and distribute to people in the villages as they are needed. There wasn't too much chatting as we were busy counting to 30 and bagging away. But it did feel wonderful to be among this great group of men and women, many of them medical professionals that will be giving of their time and talents on this mission.
