Watercolor Journal Group Outing

Our WJ Group has been shrinking, especially in summer when life gets a little more unpredictable. Schedules change and people go off and have fun... a very good thing! Three of us drove out to Nicasio to do a little painting. I have done the sweet little church several times so today, I decided to do a fun sketch of the Rancho Nicasio.

We set up "camp" under the shade of a large tree and used
the back of my new Honda Fit as our outdoor studio.
Here are Jillian and Jeanne busy at work... oh so hard!
My stuff is sitting by my new REI stool with a
back that is really working out well as a
portable chair. It is quite sturdy and pretty comfy, too.

Rancho Nicasio has been here for years.
It is a very popular stop for cyclists
on their way to the beach.
There is a store, a small post office and then, of course
the restaurant and bar... they have a great outdoor deck.

Here is my sketch of the place.... I had fun simplifying it
and giving it a little more personality. This is what is so
great about journal keeping. If you want a realistic image,
then take a photo. If you want your version, do a page!

What a great time it looks like you have and I love the comment about photos and pages at the very last!
