The last days of August

Summer is almost over and school has already started
here in Marin. I decided to capture the look of the
front of our entrance at The Redwoods.
Soon, there will be a big upgrade to these 40 year
old buildings. They are bringing in 2 very large
kitchen container/trailers soon. The kitchen needs to be
rebuilt and our food will come out of these containers.

I wanted to remember the old entrance,
so here is my page I did this week.

The Residents who made contributions to the
Capital Campaign were treated to a party yesterday.
The usual kudos and certificates were
given out to those who had made special efforts.
We were treated with ice cream malts and
THEN Elvis showed up in his
pink cadillac.
He was very LOUD.
He brought his own AMPS on
a cart .... it blasted the background music.

Elvis in his gold glittery outfit.

Elvis' Pink Cadillac covered with advertising.

I wish I had a hearing aid I could have turned off
during his gig.
Most folks had fun as he worked the room.
I was hoping it
would be over soon.
What an old stick in the mud I am!
Anyway, it was a very nice gesture for the donors.

Every morning I walk 2 miles before breakfast.
My walks are usually just at sunrise..
Tuesday, there was a beautiful rosy glow in the fog.
It was so beautiful.
I snapped a photo of the fog with my iPhone
and took one of Mt. Tam, too.
Here they are:
